WATER SECURITY PLAN
In Verona, the water management and usage systems were analyzed to identify risks and stressors on the hydrological system. The Water Security Plan and Water Palm develop strategies and actions to improve the protection of water as a vital resource for the city.

WATER USAGE
Investigation of how and where water is used in Vicenza is helpful to provide insights in the management and distribution systems. The synergies and conflicts related to the systems show where water is used properly and where it is at risk.

SYSTEMS AND STRESSORS
Each hydrological system in Vicenza has links to the aquifer below the city, either promoting recharge or adding additional stress. These links, paired with usage trends were used to define the most relevant problem areas in the city.

THE WATER PALM
The Water Palm supports the spatialization of three goals for Verona aquifer recharge in the North, water recycling in the Southwest of the city, and water re-use across different sectors in the Southern agricultural areas

ACTIONS
Various actions are defined as part of the Water Security Plan and are implemented in different areas of the city based on the most pressing needs. Three sub-areas within the city with distinct water related needs serve as pilot projects to test the feasibility of the water security plan.
